What customers say?

“ This is my favourite Chinese food in the BC interior. Every time I drive through Grand Forks I make a point of stopping for a meal. The salt and pepper prawns are excellent, if you like spicy! Highly recommended! ”

“ This was our first time going to Golden Chopsticks II. It won't be our last. We have been to another popular Chinese restaurant in town dozens of times. Mostly because they have a buffet and our family has been going there when in town for 30+ years. However, it was closed when we went through town. So we had to try some place new. Golden Chipsticks was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was nothing special, but they had great service and their food was better than expected. I don't expect Grand Forks to have good Chinese good, but this restaurant was definitely better than I expected. We both got their combo for 1. We liked the ginger beef, it was not overly sweet. The beef and veggies had delicious flavor, crunchy veggies and soft beef. Their chow mein was very good and not soggy...I didn't love their chicken balls, hiwever, others might. Their ration of batter to chicken is a bit off for me. I like more batter and a bit thicker. Their batter was light and more like tempura. Many people like that, I found it makes it a bit too oily, with no flavor. It definitely needs salt, either inside or sprinkled on top when taken out of the oil. But that was the only thing I didn't care for and it was just about my preference. I did hear a phone call where someone wanted to change the items in their combo for 1 and the server said sure but they charge $3.50. The combo is $17.95 for 4 items. You don't get much of each item, but it is enough. Where we live, it is normal to charge about $1 to change out an item in a combo meal, which is important to us as we don't eat pork. So to hear it was $3.50 was a bit shocking. If it was to change all the items in the combo, okay that I get. But if it was to change out 1 item, that is quite expensive. Next time we go, I will find out and up date this review. The other surprise cost I saw was their spring rolls and eggs rolls. Just one cost over $3 and over $4 for the egg roll. That is surprising...I normally throw one on with my meal, but at that price, nope. It would have to be amazing and huge for me to get it and at that price I wouldn't even bother trying it out. Overall, we enjoyed the combo we had and will definitely be back, when we journey through to try out more items. ”

“ Had chicken chow mein, beef with mixed vegetables and lemon chicken. All were very fresh, not oily, not salty and delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Would highly recommend and if I am ever back in GF will definitely eat here again. ”

“ The food was great except for the ginger beef was a bit dry and too hard and the spring roll was a bit on the overpriced side of things otherwise the rest was extremely good! Will be back for sure next time I'm in grand forks! ”

“ This place is an absolute gem. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the value for money is unbeatable. You can tell they care about both quality and customer satisfaction. The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming , the kind of friendly service that makes you want to come back again and again. Whether you're just passing through or a local looking for a great meal, this spot is definitely worth a stop. Charming, consistent, and satisfying. ”

“ Amazing! Highly recommend While travelling through Grand Forks we stopped here randomly for a meal. Upon entering some locals at a table near the door said Hi and told us that we had chosen the best place to eat at in their town. Our meal was delicious, the server was super friendly and kind. We would 100% stop here again. Its been 3 days since we ate there and my boyfriend is still talking about it. ”

“ They offer a solid option for satisfying Chinese food cravings. While the selection might be smaller than larger Chinese restaurants, the friendly service and reasonable prices make it a dependable spot for a casual meal. Don't let the aged exterior deter you from entering, the inside offers a modern look with a comfortable ambience. The meal was certainly glistening with MSG and could feel like the entire combo A meal was sauced and I felt a lot fuller than I should have while eating it. The server took my order and I never saw her again until I was done, but on the upside, she already had the bill ready. ”

“ The ONLY place worth ordering Chinese food in Grand Forks. We have tried the others, been badly disappointed and recommend Golden Chopsticks every time. Service is a bit slow, both for pick up and dine in, but it's worth it. ”
